Stepping out of the mists of time, our costumed characters walk the streets of WinniPEG telling tales of the rise & fall of the richest city in Canada. Manitoba history is chalk full of odd bits and humorous stories that excites and motivates people to learn more! WinniPEG has it all, so many square pegs who changed local and national history.
Explore Winnipeg’s connection to several notorious and violent criminals who passed through this city and how they met their fate at the end of the rope. This tour takes crime interested people on a walk from Union Station to the Vaughan St Jail where they will hear and see locations that are tied to criminals and their crimes between 1870-1946. Even with the original buildings lost to redevelopment, the stories still come to life as you hear the tragic details of what took place here.
Tour ends at Vaughan St jail, not entered.

NEW TOUR! Join SquarePeg Tours as we explore this new venue in the dark. Located in St Boniface, Maison Gabrielle Roy was the birthplace of Gabrielle Roy, a famous French-Canadian author. She wrote several books using her home as an important theme. Her books and the descriptions we find in them allow us to mentally recreate the home at the time of Gabrielle Roy. For example, her booked “Rue Deschambault”, takes place in this house where Gabrielle lived for nearly 28 years. She was born in 1909 in the house and spent all her youth and the first years of her adult life right here in Saint-Boniface.
Tour Experience: During this three hour tour, explore three buildings in the dark and become part of the experience by trying equipments and participating in an actual investigation. Listen to one of the best story tellers in Winnipeg while she reveals sad and tragic tales of those who may still be dwelling here and why. Communicate with spirits using dowsing rods, K2 meters, pendulums, table tipping and more.
